Paradise Valley Healing Center is an exclusive residential facility that specializes in comprehensive treatment for a wide range of addictive behaviors and psychological trauma. Our serene 10-acre property, located on the banks of the Cheakamus River just one hour north of Vancouver, BC, provides a tranquil environment for healing. Our holistic approach to treatment, which emphasizes the integration and balance of the body, mind, and spirit, sets us apart from other centers.
We are the first holistic addiction treatment program, combining the latest in modern Western medicine with the traditional healing arts of the East. Our program, previously known as Chopra Addiction and Wellness Center, is built on the principles of the Freedom from Addiction program developed by Deepak Chopra, M.D. Our approach focuses on physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, and we offer a range of individual and group therapy sessions to support our guests on their journey to recovery. We also provide instruction in Ayurveda, the world’s oldest healing science, which includes yoga, meditation, yoga therapy, massage, acupuncture, and vegetarian cuisine. With our unique approach, we strive to help our guests achieve lasting recovery and transform their lives.
Our clinical program involves a collaborative bio-psychosocial and spiritual assessment. Guests experience a high standard of care from highly trained and compassionate healthcare professionals committed to providing the safety and expertise needed to work on underlying issues. The Center uses innovative evidence-based techniques and well-known established therapies. Treatment plans are customized to meet guests’ needs. With a maximum of 9 residential guests, a high level of personal care and attention is assured.
Smoking accounts for the majority of deaths for those seeking professional help for substance use disorders. We consequently feel it is a critical opportunity to provide safety and expertise to support smoking cessation. Also, neurological research suggests not using nicotine improves work that may be occurring related to psychological trauma.
Smoking is not permitted for guests while they are residents and there is no smoking allowed on the premises.
Our philosophy on wellness is centered around a balanced vegetarian diet that is low in fat and sugar. We believe that consuming delicious, healthy meals with mindfulness, gratitude, and respect creates a vital connection between the body and soul. Not only do we offer guests the opportunity to enjoy nourishing meals during their stay, but we also provide education on meal planning and preparation. This can be a fun experience for guests to include their family and friends and continue practicing a healthy lifestyle even after they leave our center.
