Nirmala Raniga CMA is the founder and driving force behind the Paradise Valley Healing Center and has been working in the field of addiction and mental health for nearly thirty years. As an addiction specialist, she broke ground in the field of addiction rehabilitation in 1989 by demanding that people in opiate dependency programs be treated with respect and compassion, not moral disdain or manipulation.
To this end, Nirmala founded and served as the director of Lower Mainland Drug Freedom Inc., a private organization with five locations in and around Vancouver, BC. A total of 25 physicians and 27 employees administer methadone and suboxone treatment programs along with a healthy dose of caring and compassion to clients who are suffering from addictions.
In 2008, Raniga’s staff of doctors and counsellors nominated her for a prestigious YWCA Women of Distinction Award, which recognizes women whose achievements contribute to the health and future of the community, in the category of Business and the Professions. She was also nominated for the 2008 Celebration of Business Excellence Award in the business category.
In 2009, Nirmala’s unwavering dedication to helping those with addiction, addictive behaviors, depression, anxiety, and PTSD led her to establish Paradise Valley Healing Center. This state-of-the-art private treatment facility is endorsed by Dr. Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Center for Wellbeing. Nestled in the stunning Squamish, BC, just an hour north of Vancouver, Paradise Valley Healing Center is committed to supporting each guest in their journey to recover from destructive behaviors and reclaim physical health, emotional well-being, and a newfound sense of meaning and fulfillment in life.
Nirmala is deeply passionate about spreading wisdom and tools for mind-body health, emotional healing, and a more fulfilling life. As a certified instructor of Primordial Sound Meditation, Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga, and Perfect Health Ayurvedic Lifestyle through the Chopra Center, she shares her expertise with individuals seeking transformation.
Nirmala has also made appearances on television, radio, and live events internationally, and hosts a weekly show called Journey of Healing on JoyTv and Shaw Cable.
