Poached Pear with Goat Cheese and Maple Syrup
Ingredients:
• 1 pear, peeled, halved, and cored
• 2 cloves
• 2 cardamom pods
• 1 star anise
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
• Water, as needed
• 2 tablespoons maple syrup
• Goat cheese, to taste
• Fresh or dried cranberries
• Pecans
• Fresh thyme sprig for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, add the pear halves, cloves, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon stick, and coconut sugar. Add enough water to cover the pears.
2. Simmer the pears until tender.
3. Once cooked, remove the pears and place them upright on a serving plate.
4. Drizzle with maple syrup and add a dollop of goat cheese on top.
5. Garnish with cranberries, pecans, and a sprig of fresh thyme.
