Masala Chai

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp black tea
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken
  • ½ tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Crush spices in a mortar or small grinder.
  2. Add spices, ginger, and tea to a saucepan with water.
  3. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 3 mins.
  4. Remove from heat and add milk. Bring to a boil once more.
  5. Remove from heat and let steep for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Strain into mugs or a tea pot.
  7. Sweeten to taste.
